Ultra Pure Water (UPW) Engineer - 1 Year Contract

About the Role
An established engineering and infrastructure solutions provider is seeking an experienced Ultra Pure Water (UPW) Engineer to support operations and project activities within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. This role will focus on UPW treatment systems, process monitoring, automation support, and plant reliability to ensure stable and efficient water treatment operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Ultra Pure Water (UPW) and water treatment systems within a semiconductor facility
- Monitor and optimize plant performance to ensure system reliability, water quality, and operational efficiency
- Support SCADA/HMI systems for monitoring, control, alarms, and reporting functions
- Perform system checks, loop testing, and basic automation troubleshooting activities
- Coordinate with operations, maintenance, instrumentation, and engineering teams during shutdowns, upgrades, and commissioning activities
- Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance activities for pumps, valves, filters, chemical dosing, and treatment equipment
- Support documentation including SOPs, reports, P&IDs, commissioning records, and maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with site safety, quality, and operational procedures
- Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and client stakeholders on technical and operational matters
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in UPW, wastewater, or industrial water treatment systems within semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments
- Experience with SCADA, HMI, PLC, or industrial automation systems
- Familiar with semiconductor plant utility systems and treatment processes
- Experience supporting commissioning, maintenance, or plant operations activities
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Able to work independently and support site-based activities
Preferred Experience
- Semiconductor fabs or cleanroom environments
- Exposure to RO, EDI, UF, IX, chemical dosing, and filtration systems
- Familiarity with Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, WinCC, or similar platforms
