Create intuitive dashboards and visualisations for our factory digital twin. This includes 2D data views and status dashboards (and 3D equipment views, if applicable) used on desktop and large displays in control rooms.
Audit and optimize current user interfaces for clarity, navigation and task flow, with a focus on reducing errors and cognitive load for operators.
Work directly with engineers, operators and managers. When possible, visit the factory floor to observe real workflows and constraints such as PPE, lighting, noise and time pressure, and use these insights to inform design decisions.
Use tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD to produce wireframes, high fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes.
Plan and run usability tests or pilot sessions, then iterate based on findings.
Contribute to a shared design system for our industrial tools. Ensure consistent layouts, typography, colour usage and interaction patterns across multiple applications.
Work with software and HMI engineers, as well as product managers, to understand technical constraints and data flows.
Communicate design rationale clearly and support implementation through specifications and regular design reviews.
Must Have Skills:
Proven 3+yrs of experience as a UI/UX designer, with a portfolio that includes dashboards, monitoring tools or other complex, data intensive applications.
Strong skills in layout, hierarchy, typography and colour systems, and in defining interaction patterns that support real operational workflows.
Proficiency with modern design tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe XD, including wireframes, high fidelity designs and interactive prototypes.
Solid grasp of user centred design. Experience conducting user interviews or observations, planning and running usability tests, and translating insights into improved designs.
Ability to explain design decisions to engineers, product managers and non design stakeholders. Comfortable working in cross functional teams and incorporating feedback while maintaining clarity and coherence in the design.
Awareness of accessibility basics such as colour contrast and legibility, and sensitivity to factory realities such as glare, noise, PPE and time pressure.
Good to Have Skills:
Familiarity with interfaces such as factory control dashboards, Human-Machine Interface screens, or digital twin visualisations used to monitor live operations.
Basic knowledge of front end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and or HMI development platforms, enough to discuss feasibility and performance trade offs with engineers. This knowledge is used for collaboration, not full time development work.
Experience creating, extending or maintaining a design system or style guide across multiple applications and teams.
Experience designing charts, status indicators and alarm states that make complex data easy to scan and interpret quickly.
