Role Overview
We are looking for a high-energy individual to join our Treasury Operations team, with a strong interest in transitioning into operations from a technical or junior development background. This role is ideal for candidates with L1/L2-level coding skills who are looking to pivot into a fast-paced, front-office adjacent operations environment covering collateral, margin, and liquidity management.
You will gain exposure to complex derivatives products, margining frameworks, and treasury processes while working closely with trading, portfolio management, and group treasury teams.
Key Responsibilities
Margin & Collateral Operations
- Process, validate, and reconcile margin calls with counterparties including bilateral, clearing brokers, and prime brokers
- Investigate and challenge margin call discrepancies where required
- Support compliance checks for Uncleared Margin Rules (UMR) and non-regulatory Initial Margin requirements
- Manage collateral movements including cash transfers and securities pledging for margin requirements
- Develop understanding of ISDA collateral agreements and margining mechanics
Treasury & Liquidity Management
- Support Group Treasury in optimizing firm-wide cash balances and liquidity usage
- Analyse cashflow patterns and assist in identifying opportunities to improve yield and efficiency
- Assist in cashflow forecasting and reporting for Treasury stakeholders
Internal Funding & Attribution
- Support monthly margin usage attribution to portfolio managers
- Assist in analysing internal funding charge methodology and comparisons against market benchmarks
- Respond to queries from portfolio managers regarding charge allocation and methodology
Projects & Process Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives across margin, treasury, and funding workflows
- Contribute to system enhancements, automation, and integration projects
- Leverage basic coding skills to support automation, data analysis, and reporting improvements
Requirements
- 1-4 years of experience in operations, middle office, or junior development roles (strong interest in transitioning into operations is key)
- L1/L2-level coding skills (Python, VBA, or similar) with willingness to apply them in operational automation and analysis
- Strong interest in financial markets, derivatives, and treasury operations
- Good understanding of or willingness to learn margin concepts (Initial Margin, Variation Margin, UMR, etc.)
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- High energy, proactive attitude, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Exposure to financial products (FX, equities, rates, credit, commodities) is an advantage
