MAIN PURPOSE

We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy Legal Intern to join our Legal & Risk Management (LRM) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in both law and information technology and will assist with various legal and IT-related tasks. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will work closely with our LRM team and gain first-hand experience of the daily tasks and challenges of an APAC in-house commercial legal team. You can expect to be exposed to a diverse range of learning opportunities, including internal stakeholder management.

Through this internship, you will engage in key legal research projects, legal memo drafting, legal know-house database management, and contribute directly to key topics such as multi-jurisdiction data privacy, intellectual property and risk management topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist to conduct privacy audit, identify compliance gaps and prepare/implement action plan
  • Compile and organise database of internal risk management reports
  • Support preparation of legal and risk management training programs to internal stakeholders - topics including Data Protection, Anti-competition, Code of Conduct and Ethics
  • Contribute to training materials development such as presentation and video development, design and version updates
  • Conduct research and analysis, draft newsletter on various topics, including commercial laws, data privacy, cybersecurity, intellectual property and risk management
  • Update contract trackers and assist with contract management
  • Support maintenance of legal know-how database management/LRM intranet
  • Assist in preparing legal documents
  • Assist in day-to-day ad-hoc administrative tasks, as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate students from faculty of law, law and IT
  • Interest in the FMCG and/or travel retail sectors
  • Good working knowledge of data protection, information security and privacy laws around the region will be a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Sharepoint, Powerpoint)
  • Proactive with a high level of initiative
  • Ability to multitask and adjust priorities
  • A well-rounded team player, collaborative and willing to learn
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Fluency in Chinese (spoken and written) will be an advantage for reviewing of Chinese legal documents
  • Experience with video editing software including Canva would be an added advantage
