Based in Singapore, Shiseido Travel Retail is Shiseido's global duty-free business which specializes in accelerating the growth of Shiseido's brands to travellers and includes operations in airports, downtown stores, border shops, airlines, and ferries. Our portfolio includes skincare brands SHISEIDO, Clé de Peau Beauté, IPSA, ANESSA, THE GINZA, Drunk Elephant, and ELIXIR; makeup brand NARS; and fragrance brands narciso rodriguez and ISSEY MIYAKE PARFUMS.
MAIN PURPOSE
As part of the Marketing Team, the Assistant Marketing Manager will drive execution of marketing and trade initiatives for Drunk Elephant & Fragrances across Asia Pacific Travel Retail, leveraging business performance insights and operational excellence to support brand growth objectives.
KEY RESPONSBILITIES
Operational Marketing & Trade Support
- Support Senior Marketing Manager on strategic planning: aligning brand portfolio priorities, calendars and investments, as well as sales target building.
- Manage cross functional planning for brand expansion initiatives, identifying retro-planning and operational requirements in close collaboration with TRA stakeholders and Global Fragrances team to ensure successful roll-out.
- Own Marketing Calendar & trade plan, partner with the VM team to ensure timely VMD changes, aligned with animation calendars and in strict adherence to Brand Holder guidelines.
- Present marketing deployment plans and performance updates to Commercial, Retail Education, and Visual Merchandising teams to drive alignment and execution excellence.
- Propose and lead trade initiatives, and guide Marketing Executive to execute plans as aligned with business objectives and in collaboration with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Commercial, Visual Merchandising, Demand Planning, Finance, Pricing teams):
- Trade activations to support new launches & brand's key bets – including animations, events and digital campaigns – in accordance with brands guidelines:
- Creative briefs for roll out of e-retailer digital initiatives (e.g., social media posts, homepage banners, shop-in-shop upgrade).
- Plan GWP strategy & track POSM usage based on trade plan & regions needs.
- Own and maintain Marketing files: calendars, Assortment files, and Marketing Books for retailers presentation.
- Development of brand collaterals (e.g., on-counter tools, brochures, gift boxes).
- Tracking of promotions implementation.
Forecasts, Operations & Budget Management
- Manage the forecasting process of Novelties (Fragrances), Gift with Purchase and key SKUs adjustments with the right level of analysis/insights, in collaboration with Demand planning & Commercial teams.
- Partner with Demand Planning to manage monthly PO planning, ensuring sufficient allocations of novelties, TREX and POSM for all regions and fair allocations of key SKUs under supply constraint, supporting inventory optimization, sales achievement and E&O mitigation.
- Manage cross functional day-to-day operations:
- Ensure smooth roll-out of key launches both online and on-counter, as well as all brand initiatives.
- Work with Commercial team to monitor SIT for key SKUs and key regions, ensuring sufficient stock coverage to maximize sales and come up with action plans for depletion when required.
- Contribute to and support the Senior Marketing Manager on Last Estimate / budgeting processes, strategic presentations to Management and external parties (including new brands introduction to retailers).
- Manage A&P budget planning & tracking, in collaboration with Senior Marketing Executive.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Commercial, Finance, agencies, and retailers, to drive alignment, innovation, and results across the region.
- Keep abreast of competitors activities & consumer trends in the Asia regions.
Reporting & Analytics
- Partner with the Senior Marketing Manager in providing marketing intelligence to Management and Commercial teams across product launches, sell in, and sell through performance.
- Responsible for monthly business monitoring (analysis of sell-in and sell-out by region and vs targets, brand lines, customers and top SKUs) & reporting to Brand teams/Headquarter.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews, translating data into clear insights, opportunity sizing, and recommended actions.
- Conduct regular deep dive performance reviews across door performance, SKU productivity, franchise contribution, campaign ROI, and promotion effectiveness to identify growth levers.
- Actively monitor competitor activities and emerging beauty trends across Asia, providing timely recommendations to maintain and strengthen competitive advantage.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Possess a recognized university degree, preferably in Marketing / Business
- At least 7-8 years of relevant working experience in either sales or marketing function, preferably in FMCG and / or Beauty Player with successful track records
- Prior experience in Travel Retail will have an advantage.
- Strong understanding of China market/Chinese consumers is a plus.
- Strong business acumen & leadership skills.
- A strong good team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions/levels.
- Independent with ability to multitask and manage diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Demonstrates agility and proven experience in operating effectively under ambiguity.
- Proactive, results oriented and demonstrated organization skills.
- Travelling is required (approximately 20%).
