This atmosphere attracts the brightest talent in the market. If that includes you, get in touch.

It is part of the London-headquartered Howden Broking Group, a leading independent, global broker with offices in over 40 countries worldwide.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Howden Asia is building a new regional COO organisation capability and is seeking an experienced Transformation & Change Management Consultant to provide immediate strategic momentum during a critical build phase. This is a part-time (3 days per week), fixed-term contract engagement of 3 - 6 months, based in the Asia region.

The consultant will work directly with the Regional COO to accelerate progress across multiple strategic workstreams including Target Operating Model (TOM) design, programme governance, data strategy, and AI enablement. The role will also serve as a regional AI advocate, helping to build awareness and adoption of AI capabilities across the Howden Asia business in close collaboration with the Group centre in London.

This engagement is an ideal opportunity for a senior independent professional with deep expertise in insurance or financial services transformation who is also passionate about the responsible adoption of AI in enterprise settings.

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain business process frameworks, operating model documentation and associated change artefacts.
  • Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops to define future-state operating models and surface transformation priorities.

Programme Governance & Delivery

  • Establish appropriate programme governance structures, reporting cadences and PMO standards enabling the COO office to manage multiple concurrent strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted interface between the Regional COO office and Group center capabilities in London (PMO, Enterprise Architecture, Divisional Data Office).
  • Track milestones, risks and dependencies across workstreams; manage stakeholder reporting and escalation.

Change Management

  • Design and execute a regional Change Management & Communications Plan covering people, process and technology change across the Asia division.

AI Advocacy & Data Strategy

  • Serve as the regional AI Champion - building awareness, appetite and capability for AI adoption across Howden Asia, aligned to Group AI strategy and governance frameworks.
  • Provide input to divisional data strategy and support groundwork for establishing the regional Divisional Data Office.
  • Advise on responsible AI adoption in business operations, drawing on formal study in AI Strategy, Leadership & Governance.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE:

  • A senior transformation and change professional with 15+ years of experience in Banking, Insurance or Financial Services, with a strong track record of delivery in complex, multi-country APAC environments.
  • Proven expertise in Target Operating Model design and delivery, change management and business process transformation
  • Experienced Programme or PMO lead with the ability to establish governance, manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and communicate progress to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Strong working knowledge of data strategy and AI strategic concepts, with an ability to translate strategic intent into operational action.
  • Comfortable operating as a trusted advisor at COO / C-suite level; able to work with ambiguity, build credibility quickly and bring structure to fast-moving situations.
  • PMP certified (or equivalent); Master's degree in Information Technology, Business or related discipline preferred.
  • Experience working across Asia markets with sensitivity to diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
  • Self-starter and effective as an independent contributor; able to make an immediate impact in a lean team environment with minimal onboarding time.
  • Available on a part-time basis (3 days per week) for a 3 – 6-month contract engagement.

YOUR BENEFITS AND SALARY:

  • Commensurate with qualification and experience
  • Working in a collaborative and upbeat environment with development opportunities and regional legal exposure
