Join the Financial Crime Compliance team of a leading financial services organisation. The role will focus on analysing potentially unusual or higher-risk activity, conducting investigations and supporting the business in managing AML-related risks.
You will work closely with Compliance colleagues and business stakeholders, using your investigative and analytical skills to determine whether activity requires further action or regulatory escalation.
The role is for an intial 6 months contract to be extended or converted to permanent afterward,
Key Responsibilities
* Analyse transaction activity and investigate cases identified through the firm's AML monitoring framework.
* Conduct detailed reviews of customer and transactional information to understand the nature and context of potentially unusual activity.
* Carry out appropriate research and background checks to support case investigations and risk assessments.
* Partner with business units and internal Compliance stakeholders to provide guidance on AML matters and transaction monitoring-related queries.
* Assess investigation findings and determine when cases should be referred for further review or regulatory reporting.
* Support the identification, preparation and appropriate escalation of cases that may warrant the submission of a Suspicious Transaction Report (STR).
* Respond to investigation requests and case referrals received from other teams within the wider AML function.
* Assist with the tracking and monitoring of relevant Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), ensuring that emerging transaction monitoring risks are appropriately captured.
* Contribute to projects, reviews and other initiatives across the broader Financial Crime Compliance function as required.
* Perform other responsibilities and ad-hoc assignments delegated by the team lead or management.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in AML, transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations or compliance within financial services.
* Good understanding of AML/CFT requirements and financial crime risk.
* Strong investigative and analytical capabilities, with the ability to identify unusual patterns and assess information from multiple sources.
* Comfortable making risk-based judgements and escalating matters where appropriate.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when dealing with business and internal stakeholders.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple investigations and meet deadlines.
* A detail-oriented and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently as well as within a wider Compliance team.
This is a strong opportunity for an AML professional to gain broad exposure across transaction monitoring, financial crime investigations, AML advisory and regulatory reporting, while working closely with both Compliance and business stakeholders.
