Role Overview:

The Transaction Monitoring analyst role is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and escalating suspicious activity across both traditional and digital asset payment rails. The role plays a critical part in identifying financial crime risks, including money laundering, terrorism financing, fraud, and sanctions breaches, across fiat and crypto transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive investigations on customers account activities as a result of transaction monitoring alerts across fiat and blockchain based transactions.
  • Perform research using analytical tools and external sources to analyze and determine potentially suspicious activity and review/disposition of adverse news.
  • Identify red flags or potential financial crime indicators and escalate them for further investigation when necessary.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to gather required documentation and respond to queries.
  • Strong analytical, writing and communications skills. Must be able to execute tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Prepare STR materials and drafting narratives.
  • Assist with internal projects on transaction monitoring program.
  • Adhoc responsibilities including quality sampling validation and dispositions of transaction monitoring alerts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with min. 3+ years (Analyst) / 5+ years (Senior Analyst) of relevant financial crime investigations experience within financial services/ fintech/ cryptocurrency industry.
  • Good working knowledge of financial regulatory requirements and crypto regulations.
  • Good to have CAMS, ICA, or equivalent AML certification.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
  • Diligent and committed to delivering high quality results with accuracy within tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Track and manage workload using internal workflow tools, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are consistently met.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Contribute to process improvements, and training initiatives.
  • Stay current on global AML/KYC regulatory changes and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with commonly used blockchain analytical tools, such as Chainalysis.
