Our client, an established luxury retail group, is seeking an experienced Training and Development Manager to lead learning, capability development and service excellence initiatives for its retail and corporate teams.
This Singapore-based position will primarily support local operations, with occasional support for Malaysia and Thailand. Regular boutique visits, field coaching and customer observations form an important part of the role. Training programmes are mainly conducted during office hours.
Responsibilities
- Conduct annual and ad-hoc Learning Needs Analysis and translate business requirements into learning priorities.
- Develop and implement annual Learning and Development plans aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with Retail Operations, Human Resources, brand partners and business leaders to identify capability gaps and recommend suitable learning solutions.
- Support talent development, succession planning and career development initiatives.
- Develop and maintain competency frameworks, learning pathways, training evaluation tools and learning records.
- Design and conduct in-house training programmes, leadership workshops and coaching sessions.
- Coach retail and corporate employees to strengthen performance, capability and professional development.
- Conduct boutique visits, field coaching and customer observations to identify service and behavioural improvement opportunities.
- Assess learning effectiveness through training evaluations, mystery shopping results, operational KPIs and stakeholder feedback.
- Prepare training reports and maintain accurate learning documentation.
- Manage training budgets, resources and external training vendors.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, Operations and other departments to deliver compliance, systems and awareness training.
- Support boutique openings, regional learning initiatives and training projects in Malaysia and Thailand.
- Lead learning and organisational development projects assigned by Management.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management, Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Business Administration or a related discipline.
- At least seven years of relevant experience in Learning and Development, training or capability development.
- Experience within luxury retail, watches, jewellery, fashion, beauty, hospitality or another premium customer-service environment would be advantageous.
- Experience in training design, facilitation, coaching and learning evaluation.
- Good understanding of retail operations, customer experience and service excellence.
- Comfortable conducting boutique visits, field observations and hands-on coaching.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, presentation, communication, analytical and project-management skills.
- Able to manage multiple learning projects, budgets and external vendors.
- Willing to travel to Malaysia and Thailand approximately twice per year, subject to business requirements.
