Trainee Marine and Bunker Surveyor

We are looking for a Trainee Marine & Bunker Surveyor to join our team and develop a career in marine and bunker surveying.

The successful candidate will receive practical training under experienced and MPA-licensed bunker surveyors, with the opportunity to develop the knowledge and practical experience required to work towards the MPA Bunker Surveyor Licence, subject to applicable MPA requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in On-Hire / Off-Hire Bunker & Condition Surveys.
• Assist in Bunker Quantity Surveys (BQS), ROB and Bunker Detective (BROB) Surveys.
• Assist in De-Bunker and bunker quantity dispute surveys.
• Prepare survey reports and documentation.
• Attend vessels at ports and anchorages.
• Travel internationally for marine survey assignments.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Nautical Studies, Maritime Transportation, Marine Engineering or another relevant Marine-related course.
• Candidates without prior bunker surveying experience are welcome to apply.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good numerical, analytical and reporting skills.
• Willing to work onboard vessels and at ports/anchorages, including irregular hours when required.
• Willing and available to travel internationally for marine survey assignments.
• MPA Bunker Surveyor Licence is not required for this trainee position.

Training and progression towards MPA licensing are subject to the applicable requirements of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).
