Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end execution of fuel oil trading transactions, ensuring smooth operational flow from deal conclusion to final settlement.
  • Coordinate closely with traders, suppliers, vessel operators, terminal operators, surveyors, inspectors, and counterparties to execute physical fuel oil cargoes efficiently.
  • Monitor vessel schedules, cargo movements, terminal operations, loading and discharge activities to ensure timely delivery.
  • Review and verify contractual terms, ensuring compliance with sales and purchase agreements, charter parties, and operational procedures.
  • Prepare and manage shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Quantity and Quality, cargo manifests, and delivery documents.
  • Liaise with internal departments including trading, risk, finance, credit, and accounting teams to ensure accurate trade capture and settlement.
  • Monitor inventory positions, storage movements, blending activities, and terminal stock reconciliations where applicable.
  • Calculate and track demurrage, detention, freight costs, operational expenses, and other voyage-related charges.
  • Ensure timely issuance and verification of invoices, payment instructions, and settlement documentation.
  • Resolve operational issues, claims, discrepancies, and disputes with counterparties and service providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of trade execution and operational performance.
  • Monitor market logistics, port congestion, vessel delays, and supply chain disruptions that may impact cargo movements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, sanctions requirements, and HSE standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in commodity trading operations, preferably within fuel oil, refined products, bunker fuels, or petroleum products.
  • Strong understanding of physical oil trading operations, shipping logistics, and commodity trade flows.
  • Knowledge of Incoterms, charter parties, Bills of Lading, Letters of Credit, and commodity trade documentation.
  • Familiarity with tanker operations, terminal operations, storage management, and cargo execution processes.
  • Experience handling operational exposure across Asia, Middle East, or global fuel oil markets will be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced trading environment and manage multiple cargoes simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commodity trading systems such as Endur, Aspect, CTRM, Allegro, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
