The Role
A hands-on operational role sitting at the intersection of market surveillance, risk monitoring, and internal support. You will work within a structured monitoring environment, acting on real-time information to identify issues, assess risk, and take or escalate action as appropriate. The role is internally focused - you will work closely with colleagues across the team rather than engaging directly with end clients.
What You Will Do
Market Surveillance & Data Quality
- Monitor live market data feeds across multiple instruments, responding to alerts related to pricing anomalies, feed disruptions, and abnormal spread or quote conditions
- Assess flagged events in the context of prevailing market conditions and take or escalate action accordingly
Trade Surveillance & Risk Oversight
- Review flagged trading activity and monitor aggregate risk exposure in real time, including open positions, intraday P&L, and flow composition
- Conduct in-depth investigation of specific trades or accounts when required, supporting internal decisions around exposure management and client classification
Operational Support & Collaboration
- Manage platform configuration tasks and assist in resolving trade-related queries passed through from other teams, working through transaction records to reach well-reasoned conclusions
- Collaborate with colleagues across operations and risk functions, contributing to daily reporting and supporting the wider team during peak periods or escalations
What We Are Looking For
- A background in financial services, markets, or a related analytical environment - the specific function matters less than the quality of your thinking and your familiarity with how markets operate
- Comfortable working with data and dashboards as part of daily workflow, with the ability to interpret information and draw conclusions independently
- Strong attention to detail, clear written communication, and a disciplined approach to documentation
- Composure and sound judgement when working under time pressure or with incomplete information
- Reliable availability for rotating shifts including nights and public holidays - this is a firm requirement of the role
