This leading global commodity trading house is active in the production and trading of iron ore, metal, and renewables, leveraging its extensive global trading presence to influence market dynamics. Due to business expansion, an exciting opportunity has opened for a trading operator to join their metal and bulk division in Singapore.

Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager of metal and bulk, the Operations Executive ensures smooth scheduling and daily execution of cargo movements while minimizing operational risks. The role manages end-to-end operational activities including shipment coordination, inventory management, documentation, and compliance with international transport regulations. The position requires close collaboration with traders, customers, and internal teams to resolve issues, optimize trading strategies, and maintain accurate trade and inventory records. Additionally, the role involves preparing operational reports, reconciling month-end inventories, managing Letters of Credit, and providing proactive solutions to ensure efficient and compliant delivery of specialty ore cargoes across multiple logistics channels.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of experience in iron ore or related product operations. A strong understanding of cargo operations, logistics, and inventory management is required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders. The candidate must also be able to perform well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
