Cana Consulting is partnering with a regional energy platform to hire an LNG Market Analyst to support its trading activities across Asia.
This position focuses on generating market insights to support trading and portfolio decisions. You will work closely with commercial and risk teams, contributing to market views, pricing analysis, and overall portfolio strategy in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse global LNG and gas market trends, including supply-demand dynamics, pricing movements, and macro drivers
- Monitor key market indicators such as benchmarks, freight, and infrastructure developments
- Develop market views and support pricing assumptions, including forward curve inputs
- Build and maintain analytical tools or models to support forecasting and decision-making
- Provide insights to support trade evaluation, portfolio optimisation, and risk considerations
- Contribute to regular market updates and presentations for internal stakeholders
- Track performance drivers and identify opportunities or risks within the portfolio
Requirements
- >3 years of experience in LNG, natural gas, or commodities analysis
- Strong understanding of energy markets and pricing fundamentals
- Experience in modelling, forecasting, or data-driven analysis
- Ability to communicate insights clearly to commercial stakeholders
- Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. finance, engineering, economics)
- Experience within trading firms, energy companies, or market intelligence platforms will be advantageous.
