You will work alongside traders, portfolio managers, and quantitative analysts to design, build, and deploy data-driven models that enhance trading strategies, generation dispatch, fuel procurement, hedging strategies, and risk management across electricity and gas markets.
This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world physical and financial energy markets, large-scale data systems, and applied AI in a production trading environment.
Job Role
Electricity and Gas Trading Optimisation
- Execute approved and compliant market trades and nominations in Power and Gas Markets (Continuous market trading operation)
- Ensure physical delivery of power through close coordination with power plant on generation dispatch and constraints.
- Optimise and extract value as a portfolio basis through close coordination with internal and external business functions.
Portfolio Management
- Support portfolio management activities in the Power and Gas markets.
- Assist with fuel procurement and hedging, retail pricing, and exposure analysis.
- Manages long-term decarbonisation goals and development plans.
Market Analysis
- Deploy descriptive/diagnostic/predictive/prescriptive analytics on business performance and market conditions to guide trading decisions.
- Collaborate with other business functions to integrate market data into models and tools.
- Analyse Singapore's regulatory and policy developments, and assess impacts to Senoko's position, strategies, and trading tools.
- Keep abreast of latest market intelligence and trends to inform trading strategies.
Business Agility
- Lead regular upkeeping, documentation, calibration, and validation of optimisation tools and systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Translate/operationalise analysis, ideas, and roadmap into practical tools, dashboards, and processes.
- Build and maintain data pipelines for market, fundamental, and alternative data
- Provide regular updates on business performances and market conditions to management.
Job Requirements
Academic Background
- Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Mathematics/Statistics, Quantitative Finance or a related discipline
Technical Skills
- Experience with: Panda, NumPy, Scikit-learn, SQL and Data Engineering Concepts, Databricks, Time-series modelling
- Familiarity with: Optimisation (Linear programming, mixed-integer programming), Data visualisation (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
Doman Knowledge (Advantage but not necessary)
- Power and gas markets, trading, or portfolio management concepts
- Quantitative finance or algorithmic trading
- Energy, commodities, or capital markets
