Trade Surveillance

Our client is a leading financial institution. They are seeking an experienced trade surveillance professional to join their market oversight function in Singapore.

The Role

You will be responsible for monitoring trading activity across securities and derivatives markets, with a focus on detecting potential misconduct, abusive trading patterns, and disorderly market behaviour. Day-to-day work involves reviewing and analysing surveillance alerts, conducting in-depth trade and account analysis, and preparing well-reasoned case assessments and escalation reports for senior stakeholders.

Beyond routine monitoring, you will contribute to the ongoing refinement of surveillance models, parameters, and detection methodologies to keep pace with evolving market risks and trading strategies. You will also work closely with compliance, legal, and front-office teams on investigations and, where appropriate, support enforcement referrals.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Banking, Business, Finance, Law, or a related discipline
• 5 to 7 years of experience in trade surveillance, market conduct compliance, or a related function within a bank, broker, or financial institution
• Solid understanding of securities and derivatives markets, trading behaviours, and market abuse typologies
• Hands-on experience with surveillance systems and alert management workflows
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of trading data and identify patterns of concern
• Clear and concise report-writing skills, with confidence presenting findings to senior management
