Job Title: Trade Operations & FIX Specialist
Role Overview
In this all-rounder role, you will be the operational backbone of our FX trading desk. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of every trade from execution through to settlement. Because we are a lean team, you will have direct exposure to our Portfolio Managers (PMs) and will be expected to own the FIX connectivity stack, troubleshoot technical bottlenecks, and manage our relationships with Prime Brokers.
Key Responsibilities
- Front-to-Back Ownership: Manage the daily trade lifecycle for FX (Spot, NDFs, Options) and ensure accurate integration into our Portfolio Management System (PMS).
- FIX Gateway Management: Act as the primary point of contact for FIX connectivity with ECNs, liquidity providers, and Prime Brokers. You will manage session configurations and troubleshoot real-time message drops.
- Counterparty & PB Liaison: Manage daily reconciliations with Prime Brokers and resolve any trade breaks or valuation discrepancies before market close.
- Tool Development: Build and maintain small-scale automation tools (via Python or VBA) to streamline daily reporting and risk monitoring.
- Treasury & Cash Management: Monitor margin requirements and coordinate collateral movements to support trading activity.
- Vendor Management: Manage the relationship with technical vendors and trading platforms to ensure 100% uptime during market hours.
The Ideal Profile
- You are comfortable jumping from a complex FIX log analysis to a manual trade entry or a high-level discussion with a PM.
- Experience: 3+ years in a Hedge Fund, Prop Shop, or a high-touch desk at a Prime Broker.
- FX Mastery: Deep understanding of FX market conventions, including value dates, tenors, and NDF fixing mechanics.
- Tech Stack: * Advanced knowledge of FIX Protocol (4.2/4.4).
- Proficiency in SQL (joining complex datasets) and Python (for task automation).
- Familiarity with Bloomberg (AIM/TSOX) or similar OMS/PMS.
- Communication: Ability to provide concise, calm updates during fire drills or system outages.
