Description
We are partnering with a reputable energy company with global trading presence. Due to business expansion. They are seeking an experienced Fuel Oil Trade Operator to manage end-to-end physical trading operations.
Role
Reporting to Operations Manager. The role will manage end-to-end operational execution of physical fuel oil cargoes (HSFO/LSFO/VLSFO) from contract review through to settlement, coordinating closely with traders, counterparties, brokers, inspectors, agents, terminals, and shipping teams. Oversee vessel nominations, cargo scheduling, and loading/discharge operations, monitor laytime and demurrage, and handle full trade documentation (BL, invoices, COQ, LC documents). Ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements, proactively manage operational and contractual risks, resolve discrepancies and claims, and work with finance teams to ensure accurate invoicing, payment processing, and timely settlement.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline. 5-10 years of experience in physical fuel oil trade operations within an oil company or established trading house, with strong knowledge of marine logistics, charter parties, incoterms, laytime/demurrage, and trade documentation including Letters of Credit. Solid understanding of operational risk management, ability to manage multiple cargoes in a fast-paced environment, and strong stakeholder management skills across trading, shipping, and finance teams. Proficiency in trading/ERP systems such as Endur, Allegro, or SAP is advantageous.
