This independent trading firm has a strong and well-established trading portfolio in metals and new energy products, specializing in the physical trading of dry bulk commodities such as coal, iron ore, copper concentrate, and other metals.
Role
Reporting to Head of Operations. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end trading operations for dry bulk commodities, ensuring all contractual terms are accurately executed and risks are minimized. The position involves reviewing and verifying sales and purchase contracts, coordinating vessel nominations and shipping logistics, preparing and managing Letters of Credit with banks and customers, and ensuring all shipping and financial documents comply with contractual and LC requirements. It includes monitoring shipment progress, handling invoicing, laytime and demurrage/dispatch calculations, overseeing receivables and payables, and ensuring timely month-end and cash flow processes. Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in business or a related discipline. 5-10 years of experience in physical bulk trade operations within a commodities trading firm, with strong knowledge of marine logistics, incoterms, laytime/demurrage, and trade documentation including Letters of Credit. Solid understanding of operational risk management, ability to manage multiple cargoes in a fast-paced environment, and strong stakeholder management skills across trading, shipping, and finance teams
