The Opportunity

Our client is a Singapore‑based financial institution operating as a subsidiary of a leading Chinese financial group. With more than a decade of presence in the local market, the company is licensed to conduct securities dealings, brokerage activities, fund management and financial advisory services.

The firm focuses on serving institutional and corporate clients, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and risk management. As part of a globally integrated network, it leverages its dual‑language capabilities and regional expertise to facilitate capital flows between Greater China, Southeast Asia and other international markets. They are seeking an entrepreneurial-minded, experienced Trade Execution Lead -Equity to spearhead the operational setup, workflow optimization, and subsequent day-to-day execution of their Equity Trading Desk in Singapore. The ideal candidate should be a hands-on senior specialist who can seamlessly bridge the gap between mature corporate IT infrastructure and localized execution governance.

Responsibilities:

• Day-to-Day Execution: Execute institutional buy/sell orders for equities and ETFs efficiently, utilizing optimal algorithmic strategies to minimize market impact and transaction costs.
• Infrastructure Localization: Configure and fine-tune existing firm-wide OMS/EMS platforms, establishing stable, compliant FIX connectivity with regional brokers and venues.
• SOP Architecture: Write comprehensive, audit-ready operational manuals and workflow guidelines detailing order routing, trade verification, and post-trade allocation.
• Best Execution Governance: Design, document, and enforce a formalized Best Execution policy tailored to Singapore operations in strict alignment with MAS Guidelines.
• Regulatory Compliance: Build front office workflows and data retention frameworks to prevent market abuse and satisfy MAS Securities and Futures Act (SFA) recordkeeping standards.
• HQ Risk Alignment: Coordinate directly with parent company headquarters to calibrate localized trading constraints, restricted list blocks, and pre-trade controls, ensuring global alignment where applicable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics or other related disciplines
• Min. 8 years of institutional equity trading experience, possessing sound knowledge of US, Hong Kong, and China equity markets, market structures, and trading strategies
• Strong proficiency in technical analysis alongside hands-on experience navigating trading platforms and terminals such as Bloomberg and Reuters
• Solid understanding of the operational side of equity markets, including institutional OMS/EMS functionality, FIX protocol routing, and front-to-back transaction workflows
• Meets all criteria to be appointed as an MAS Capital Markets Services (CMS) Representative; prior experience as an appointed representative is highly preferred
• Professional fluency in English and Mandarin is required to effectively author local policies and liaise directly with stakeholders based out of its headquarters in Mainland China
• Strong numerical ability and initiative to build workflows autonomously from scratch, with the capacity to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
