Job Summary
The Trade Accountant is responsible for handling trade transactions and management reporting for our oleochemical business. This role involves preparing daily trade P&L reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting smooth collaboration between trading, operations, and finance teams. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of IFRS, and experience in trade accounting within the oleochemical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile all trade-related transactions, including recognition of sales, purchases, freight and other related expenses
- Prepare daily trade P&L and mark-to-market reports
- Ensure timely and accurate recording of invoices, payments and trade-related accruals or adjustments for month-end closing
- Maintain supporting documentation for intercompany transactions to ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements
- Collaborate with traders, operations and finance teams to support smooth business operations
- Maintain proper documentation to support the company's Global Trader Programme (GTP) status
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, company policies, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Maintain audit readiness and attend to queries and requirements from internal and external auditors
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in trade accounting for commodities, preferably within the oleochemical industry
- Good understanding of accounting principles and Incoterms
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
