Job Description & Requirements

Job Responsibilities

Surface Preparation

Inspect and measure work areas.

Clean, level, and waterproof surfaces (floors, walls, partitions).

Apply screed, adhesive, or mortar as required.

Tile Installation

Cut tiles to fit around obstacles using tile cutters or power tools.

Lay tiles according to design plans, alignment guidelines, and required patterns.

Ensure consistent spacing using spacers and leveling systems.

Grouting & Finishing

Mix and apply grout.

Clean off excess grout and polish finished surfaces.

Seal tiles and joints when needed.

Repair & Maintenance Work

Replace cracked or broken tiles.

Re-grout or re-seal older installations.

Perform waterproofing repairs in bathrooms and wet areas.

Quality Control & Safety

Ensure workmanship meets building codes and project specifications.

Follow workplace safety procedures under WSH regulations.

Use tools and equipment safely (wet saws, grinders, trowels, levels).

Documentation & Coordination

Report progress to site supervisors.

Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, and other trades for sequencing of work.

Estimate materials and assist with inventory.
