Therapy Aide

Qualification & Requirement:

Must possess certificate in Therapy Services, Preferably HMI or WDA certification.

. Good communication and interpersonal skills

. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office - MS Word and Excel

. Team player

. Ability to converse in Mandarin and major dialects is an advantage

. Passionate in serving the needy and vulnerable elderly(clients)

. Have listening and coaching skills

Experience:

. Preferably with at least 1-2 years working experience as Therapy Aides or in eldercare setting

Special Aptitude:

. Caring and possess good interpersonal skills

. Able to read and write inEnglish

. Knowledge of dialects is an advantage

Job Summary:

Provide day rehab and day care services to the clients attending the Maintenance Day Care Centre (Locations at Marine Parade). This involves and includes the maintenance of a clean, orderly and safe environment for the clients and assisting the clients in personal care and activities of daily living

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.1 Work closely with the multidisciplinary care team (PT/OT) to provide clients with a seamless delivery of care which is of high-quality, safe and cost efficient and communicate and work closely with the care team in executing individualized care plan for clients require day care, maintenance activities or rehabilitation service

1.2 Assist in preparing the rehabilitation and occupational therapy areas by following the Centre prescribed procedures and protocols, including tidying therapy areas and assisting in cleaning of equipment and areas after clients used

1.3 Prepare clients for physical or occupational therapies treatment by welcoming and providing and assisting clients in therapeuticapparels, and escorting elderly clients to the washroom.

1.4 Assist the therapist (s) in implementing rehabilitation programmes and therapy works to clients including setting up/ supervising /assisting clients in the performance of therapeutic activities/ exercise, such as helping clients onto exercise equipment, positioning clients on equipment, and monitoring motion and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques, etc.

1.5 Educate clients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines.

1.6 Assist in setting up inventory list of equipment and medical ointment for muscle pain / massage cream supplies by checking stock to determine inventory level

1.7 Ensure rehabilitation equipment are in working order by completing routine maintenance, troubleshooting and reporting of any malfunctions to Centre Manager for repairs arrangement

1.8 Assist in preparing materials for conducting of recreational programmed and events.

1.9 Receive clients at the drop off point and assist them to the Centre

1.10 Perform basic data entry and retrieval of data when required

1.11 Carry out others duties as assigned from time to time
