Job Description

Job Summary:

Tests computer, rack, sub-assemblies, and assemblies using pre-set and verified manual & build instrction, semi-automated and automated test stations.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Performs production tests on units in process, basic tests on assembled units, failure analysis tests on malfunctioning product and final tests prior to product shipment.

  • Detects and isolates routine faults in circuit performance and defective or malfunctioning components.

  • Adjusts, realigns and recalibrates test equipment to required specifications.

  • May assist in troubleshooting, repairing, and resolving technical problems on equipment or components.

  • May assist in product assembly and packaging.

  • Looks for trends and/or patterns with failures and reports to avoid repeats.

  • Maintains and updates electronic and/or hard copy records as required.

  • Identifies, investigates, and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures, to include various key performance metrics.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Level Specifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the organization, job, practices and procedures, enabling a high level of contribution.

  • Completes complex assignments requiring significant judgment, initiative and problem solving skills.

  • Familiar with the installation of common operating systems, such as Windows and Linux.

  • Ability to understand and interpret written and oral procedures in English. Bilingual in Mandarin tunning.

  • Work is performed under minimal guidance and assigned in the form of desired expectations. Independent judgment is used to determine best approach and creativity is expected to achieve maximum results and handle new situations.

  • Collaboration with internal or external contacts. May participate on teams for special assignments. Responds to requests from senior management, internal and/or external contacts.

  • Actions may have significant impact to department as well as others. Errors may be difficult to detect and remedy and potentially result in loss of customer business, materials, money and/or time.


Work Experience:

  • Typically requires a minimum of five years of related experience in rack or computer test.


Education and Certification(s):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
