Job Description

About the role:

  • To ensure the company remains highly competitive in the market by developing effective tender strategies and delivering accurate, timely, and profitable pricing proposals across all Lines of Business (LoB).
  • To drive successful implementation of newly awarded customer projects, ensuring smooth transition from business acquisition to operational execution.
  • To support Sales and Commercial teams in achieving business growth targets through strategic tender management, customer onboarding excellence, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • To enhance the company's tender win rate and customer satisfaction through continuous improvement, market intelligence, and process standardization.
  • To act as a central coordinator between Sales, Operations, and Support Functions, ensuring alignment of commercial commitments with operational capability and profitability objectives.

Responsibility:

Tender Management

  • Lead, coordinate, and prepare tender/RFQ responses in collaboration with Sales, Operations, Finance, and other relevant departments.

  • Develop and maintain the most competitive pricing strategies to maximize business opportunities and profitability.

  • Work closely with cross-functional operational teams of each Line of Business and regional offices, together with Sales team members, to prepare and communicate insightful results that help secure customer contracts and service allocations.

  • Negotiate special pricing for large-volume shipments, project cargo, and new trade lanes to strengthen the company's market position.

  • Analyse tender/customer requirements and market trends to provide the most competitive and viable solutions.

  • Prepare and deliver timely, well-structured, and competitive freight quotes to Sales teams and key clients, ensuring responsiveness and professionalism.

  • Conduct post-mortem reviews of tender performance, monitoring competitiveness and client satisfaction, and providing improvement recommendations.

  • Maintain updated knowledge of market conditions, competitor activities, and industry developments to ensure continuous competitiveness.

  • Maintain and update a centralized tender database, track performance metrics (win/loss ratio, hit rate), and provide regular performance reports.

Implementation Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute customer onboarding and implementation projects after award confirmation.

  • Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines to ensure successful project kick-off and transition.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Operations, IT, Finance, Compliance, and other support functions) to ensure all setup requirements are completed before go-live.

  • Develop and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring alignment with customer requirements and operational capability.

  • Monitor project milestones and deliver progress reports to key stakeholders, identifying risks and implementing mitigation actions.

  • Ensure a smooth handover to Operations upon completion of implementation, with clear accountability and documentation.

  • Track implementation KPIs and ensure customer satisfaction during the start-up and stabilization phase.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above qualification in Marketing or equivalent
  • At least 3 year's working experience, preferably in the Freight Forwarding industry
