Temporary Student Support Officer (Special Education Needs)
What You Will Be Working On
- Provideindividualisedsupporttostudentsinmanagingchallengingbehavioursinschool,including support management for meltdowns
- SupporttheSpecial Education Needs (SEN)teamtoimplementbehaviourinterventionsandlearningsupportplansforstudents with SEN in collaboration with academic team and other stakeholders
- Maintainrecordsofstudentprogressandinterventions implemented
- Assistwithorganising , implementing, and facilitating training and advocacy programmes forstudentswith SEN
- PartnerwithSENteam,academicteamandotherstakeholderstocreateasupportiveenvironment conducive to the success of students with SEN
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for the student system's (STAR) Case Management module
What We Are Looking For
- PassionanddispositiontocareforandworkwithstudentswithSEN
- RelevantqualificationsinInclusiveandSpecialEducation,Education,Psychology,Appliedor Educational Psychology, Counselling and/or relevant areas preferred
- Atleast3yearsofexperiencesupportingstudentswithSEN,preferablyinaneducationalorsocial service sector setting preferred
- Resourcefulandgoodproblem-solvingskills.Demonstratedabilitytoworkwithindividualsfrom diverse backgrounds, and collaboratively with different stakeholders in student support
- Demonstratedabilitytoworkindependentlyaswellasinateam setting
- Excellent interpersonal communication (both oral and written) and administrative skills
- IT proficiency in data management, with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience in facilitating workshop and events management would be an advantage
