The Technology Portfolio Product Owner is accountable for defining and driving the strategic direction, roadmap, and delivery outcomes for a major application portfolio across Hong Kong and Singapore. This role ensures the portfolio remains aligned to business priorities, modernization objectives, operational resilience, and long-term technology strategy. The role balances short-term business value, technical sustainability, and modernization investments across multiple application teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Own the vision and roadmap for the technology portfolio. Translate business goals into portfolio-level technology initiatives and multi-quarter roadmaps.
- Effective engagement with Business stakeholders and Transformation and Change Delivery (TCD) team to prioritize demands across modernization, BAU support, technology debt reduction, risk remediation, and regulatory requirements. Govern portfolio backlog, ensuring clear prioritization based on business value, risk, dependency, and effort.
- Partner with business leaders to understand business needs, pain points, and transformation opportunities. Coordinate across multiple squads, SMEs, technology leads, delivery teams, and vendors to ensure successful execution. Manage cross-functional dependencies across architecture, engineering, data, operations, security, and business domains.
- Establish and monitor portfolio KPIs, including delivery progress, quality, stability, and business outcomes. Ensure effective communication of roadmap, priorities, delivery status, and risks to leadership and stakeholders.
- Drive decisions on application rationalization, consolidation, and modernization.
- Coach and guide Senior Technology Product Owners and Product Owners where applicable.
Experience & Qualification Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
- Relevant product, agile, or project delivery certifications
- 10 to 15+ years of total experience in technology product ownership, application delivery, business analysis, or digital transformation, including at least 5 years in a leadership role with people management responsibility.
- Strong experience in managing complex application portfolios and multi-team delivery environments.
- Proven ability to balance business value, technical constraints, and operational risk.
- Experience engaging senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities.
- Experience in application modernization, legacy platform rationalisation, and service delivery.
- Experience working in hybrid onsite/offshore and vendor-led delivery models.
