Mandatory Skills
- Prior exposure to Sunline (SunLTTS / SunCBS / SunCBS architecture)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in technology roles within the financial services or banking software sector, with at least 5 years in technical architecture capacity.
- Demonstrated experience leading the technical architecture for at least one full end-to-end core banking implementation or modernisation programme.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture - ideally within a banking or high-volume financial transaction processing context.Hands-on experience with modern integration platforms (MuleSoft, IBM ACE, WSO2, Apache Kafka) and RESTful/event-driven API design.
- Strong knowledge of distributed database technologies (OceanBase, TiDB, PostgreSQL, or equivalent) and their application in high-concurrency banking workloads.
Role Summary
The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end technical architecture for Sunline Core Banking implementations. This includes solution architecture, integration design, data migration, infrastructure, security, and platform modernization. The role ensures scalable, secure, and high-performing banking solutions that align with business, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Ways of Working
Solution & Platform Architecture
- Define the overall architecture for Sunline Core Banking platforms and supporting ecosystems.
- Design distributed microservices-based solutions, deployment models, scalability frameworks, and technical standards.
- Establish architecture standards covering APIs, data models, security, and DevOps practices.
Integration Architecture
- Design integrations between core banking systems and external platforms, including digital channels, payment networks, compliance systems, and middleware.
- Define API-led and event-driven integration patterns using technologies such as MuleSoft, Kafka, IBM ACE, and WSO2.
- Establish integration governance standards covering API lifecycle management, security, error handling, and resilience.
- Architect real-time payment integrations and banking connectivity solutions.
Data & Migration Architecture
- Lead data migration strategy, including mapping, transformation, reconciliation, and rollback planning.
- Design enterprise data models for customer, account, product, and transaction domains.
- Oversee integration of data warehouses, data lakes, analytics, and regulatory reporting platforms.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, auditability, and governance requirements are met.
Infrastructure, Security & Delivery
- Define infrastructure architecture, database strategy, containerization, cloud/on-prem deployment models, and environment management.
- Design high-availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions meeting banking-grade SLAs.
- Conduct performance and scalability assessments to support transaction growth and peak processing requirements.
- Ensure compliance with banking security standards, IAM controls, encryption requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with containerisation and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tooling in a financial services context.
- Deep understanding of banking security architecture and regulatory requirements
- Experience with AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, or other cloud-native banking deployments.
- Knowledge of Open Banking, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), Embedded Finance, and Real-Time Payments architectures.
- Certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Solutions Architect, or equivalent architecture credentials.
- Experience with banking analytics platforms, Data Lakes, Financial Data Marts, and Big Data ecosystems.
- Background in legacy-to-core banking modernization and migration programmes, including dual-run and parallel operation strategies.
