To carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, and basic troubleshooting of equipment and systems onboard boats, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Perform maintenance and repair works on mechanical, marine engine, and electrical systems onboard vessels as assigned.
Carry out daily inspection, servicing, testing, and fault rectification according to work instructions and maintenance schedules.
Follow safety procedures, risk assessments, and permit-to-work requirements at all times.
Report equipment defects, abnormal conditions, and completed work status to the Assistant Engineer / Site Manager.
Support Assistant Engineer in manpower deployment and task execution when required.
Coordinate with fellow technicians to ensure smooth execution of maintenance tasks
Proper use and care of tools, equipment, and spares.
Assist during coordination with contractors or vendors under supervision when needed.
Participate in emergency response, drills, and ad-hoc operational support as instructed.
Knowledge & Skills:
Basic to intermediate knowledge of mechanical systems, marine engines, and electrical principles
Ability to read simple technical drawings, manuals, and work instructions.
Familiarity with safe work practices and use of hand and power tools.
Requirements:
NTC or Higher NTC in Mechanical/Marine/Automotive Technology or Engineering related
Willingness to work onboard vessels and in marine/industrial environments.
Required to work during weekends, public holidays, and/or odd hours when operations require
Experience with Diesel Engines will be advantageous
