About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Technician to support our student accommodation and property operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our units and rooms are well-maintained, safe, and ready for customer check-in. You will be responsible for inspections, basic repairs, coordination with contractors, and managing inventory related to tools, parts, and furnishings.
Key Responsibilities
Unit & Room Takeover / Handover
Conduct thorough inspections of units and rooms using standardized checklists
Identify, document, and photograph defects or damages during check-in and check-out
Ensure defects and damages are rectified by landlords prior to takeover or by the company before handover
Carry out necessary repairs and prepare rooms for customer check-in
Renovation & Partitioning Support
Coordinate with contractors for renovation, partitioning, and improvement works
Apply for MCST permits where required
Arrange for movers and oversee proper disposal of materials and furniture
Air Conditioning, WiFi & CCTV Management
Oversee installation of WiFi and CCTV systems
Inspect and ensure all systems are fully functional
Monitor regular servicing of unit fixtures
Arrange and follow up on repair works as needed
Room Inspections & Quality Control
Perform routine and handover inspections using checklists
Ensure all rooms and common areas meet operational and safety standards
Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain accurate records of inventory, including:
Tools
Spare parts
Bedding
Small asset items
Furniture
Miscellaneous supplies
Record all purchases, usage, and disposals
Requirements
Diploma or technical certification in Building Maintenance, Facilities Management, or related field preferred
1-2 years of experience in property maintenance, facilities, or technical operations
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general repair work
Familiarity with WiFi, CCTV, and air-conditioning systems is an advantage
Good organizational and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
Willingness to travel between properties as required
