The Marine Robotic Operations Technician will be responsible for the technical operation and maintenance of underwater hull cleaning robotic systems deployed from small service vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
. Operate underwater hull cleaning robotic systems during marine operations alongside commercial vessels.
. Coordinate with vessel crew and port authorities to ensure safe and compliant cleaning operations.
. Conduct pre-deployment system checks, troubleshooting, and post-operation maintenance.
. Assist in minor mechanical and electrical repairs of robotic units and support equipment.
. Monitor system performance (power systems, hydraulic/brush systems, control console).
. Maintain operational logs, service records, and basic inspection reports.
. Ensure strict compliance with marine safety standards and company SOPs.
. Support mobilization and demobilization of equipment onboard service craft.
Job Requirements
. Minimum NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical discipline.
. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in marine equipment operation, offshore support, ROV systems, or mechanical machinery handling.
. Familiar with basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
. Physically fit and able to work onboard small service vessels in offshore conditions.
. Comfortable with offshore deployment and extended working hours when required.
. Basic computer literacy (for reporting and system monitoring).
