Consultant - Technical Writer

Scope of work: To create content targeted at software engineers - including developers, DevOps engineers, and security engineers. This includes conceptual documentation, technical how-to guides, and other developer-facing content.

The Product Management team in Government Digital Services team in GovTech aims to achieve the smart nation vision by increasing engineering productivity. The team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of Singapore Government agencies. Driving adoption of Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and Singapore Government Tech Stack (SGTS) is an initiative in that direction bringing a new approach to application designs, development, and deployment. This Agile, Open and Cloud-enabled Application Infrastructure will provide the government with a modern IT platform that accelerates software development without compromising operations and security. Our objective is to catapult our government infrastructure into the new digital era with faster time to market, operational agility, automated deployment, and scaling. SGTS will consist of modern technologies like DevSecOps, Containers, Microservices and PaaS Service Catalogue to drive continuous delivery for government digital services securely and enhance citizens experience.

The Role

. We are looking for tech developer, user or enthusiast who can create high quality documentation and content to drive seamless adoption of SGTS with an immediate focus on products related to CI/CD (SHIP-HATS) Containers (Container Stack) and Monitoring (StackOps).

. Develop documentation including product guides, demos, tutorials, code starter kits, design specifications, technical blogs that meets organisational needs and standards.

. Digest and summarise complex technical concepts into easily understandable conceptual, how-to and reference guides without losing accuracy.

. Work with product managers, designers, and development team in driving content strategy to improve product onboarding and adoption.

. Lead pilots to evaluate content formats, types and medium to build content cadence recommendation for Product Managers

. Be open to receiving feedback and agile in incorporating them.

. Lead and deliver content consistency and timely content refresh.

. Research and stay abreast with industry trends and bring in content best practices from leading tech players.

Requirements

. Degree or Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Communications, or other related disciplines.

. Min 2-5 years of relevant experience in writing for a developer and technical audience. Candidates with more than 10 years of experience will be considered for senior position.

. Experience in documenting cloud-based products or familiarity with cloud technologies and concepts.

. Excellent writing and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.

. Familiarity with a well-known style guide.

Preferred

. Background in Computer Science/Engineering, IT or Software Development will be highly preferred.

. Able to walk through different workflow to verify and streamline the process.

. Graphics or design, video creation experience will be valuable.
