Job Description

The Singapore Centre for 3D Printing (SC3DP) offers a full range of additive manufacturing services, from design and infrastructure to production and validation. With advanced technologies such as topology optimization, generative design, and bioinspired design, SC3DP creates optimized products using a variety of novel materials and printing processes, including hybrid printing, post-processing, and emerging technologies.

Sustainability is a top priority for SC3DP, which offers material development and control services that combine artificial intelligence, big data, and other digital tools for process optimization, as well as non-destructive testing for AM parts. Backed by a team of experts and a state-of-the-art facility equipped with the latest equipment and technologies, SC3DP is committed to leading the way in sustainable additive manufacturing research and development.

The successful applicant will play a critical role in providing operational-level technical expertise to faculty, research staff and students in the Centre while ensuring the safety of its laboratories.

Job Responsibilities:

Laboratory safety and management

  • Take charge of regulated and unregulated material inventory.

  • Verify the procurement and delivery of controlled items.

  • Interact with equipment, material and chemical suppliers and ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.

  • Perform chemical verification and radiation safety in accordance with regulations and guidelines.

  • Provide support for managing hazardous substances, which include metallic powders, chemicals, nanomaterials and other materials used in additive manufacturing and its associated secondary processes.

  • Provide support for document control and facilitate the flow of information within the research community.

  • Provide support for safety inspection and safety audit, ensuring all submitted documents are in order.

  • Provide support for office and laboratory access.

  • Ensure that laboratory operations follow relevant national/university safety regulations and occupational health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related fields with 1 to 3 years of relevant working experience in a research environment.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of chemicals, radiation and hazardous materials management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Meticulous, pro-active, diligent and able to work independently.

  • Able to work in a dynamic environment.

  • Service oriented team player.

  • A positive attitude towards learning, a strong sense of accountability and a passion for continuous improvement
