Job Description

We are partnering with a Tier 1 corporate real estate services provider on a Critical Services Manager mandate, overseeing mission‑critical engineering systems across a Southeast Asia corporate portfolio, based in Singapore.

You will be the regional technical authority for critical environments, safeguarding uptime, resilience and risk control for a high‑stakes corporate client across multiple markets.

What you will lead:

  • Own the reliability and performance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC/ACMV and life safety systems across sites in SEA.
  • Set and enforce engineering standards, maintenance strategies and operational controls that drive high availability and operational continuity across the region.
  • Provide governance over engineering designs, method statements and work plans from vendors, QPs, PEs, LEWs and consultants, ensuring no new operational risk is introduced.
  • Oversee and improve critical environment controls, including work authorisation processes, risk assessments, method statements and safe delivery of high‑risk works.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analysis, then embed lessons learned into standards, playbooks and training across all sites.
  • Act as regional SME and trusted advisor to country FM teams, senior leadership and client technology stakeholders on all matters related to critical engineering risk.
  • Provide technical oversight of vendors, challenge proposed methodologies and support vendor capability assessments for critical engineering services.
  • Contribute to operating and capital budgeting for critical systems, supporting lifecycle planning, asset replacement strategies and cost optimisation efforts.
  • Review projects, fit outs and infrastructure changes that impact critical systems, ensuring robust shutdown planning, contingencies and operational risk controls are in place.
  • Provide technical leadership during incidents or system failures, guiding troubleshooting, recovery and post incident improvement actions.
  • Reinforce HSE compliance and promote safe execution of all high‑risk work within critical environments.

What you bring:

  • Degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong track record in critical facilities or mission‑critical environments, for example financial services, trading floors, data centres or similar.
  • Deep technical understanding of electrical, mechanical, HVAC/ACMV and fire or life safety systems in complex, 24/7 operations.
  • Experience working with and challenging vendors, QPs, PEs, LEWs and engineering consultants on technical proposals and methods.
  • Proven ability to lead and coach engineering or FM teams across multiple sites, setting expectations on standards, risk management and incident response.
  • Comfort operating in a regional, matrixed setup, balancing client standards, account requirements and local site realities.
  • Strong stakeholder skills, able to advise senior non‑technical stakeholders and act as a technical gatekeeper for operational risk.
  • Solid financial awareness around operating budgets, lifecycle planning and capital investment for critical engineering assets.

Why this role:

  • Regional remit across Southeast Asia with direct influence on business continuity and risk.
  • Senior visibility with both the service provider's leadership and an international corporate client.
  • Opportunity to set the standard for critical environment engineering and resilience, without carrying design liability.
