Our client is looking for a Technical Security Assessment Lead to join a technical assurance function that validates whether cyber security controls actually hold up against real-world threats, not just whether they exist on paper.
The Role
You will design and run technical assessments that test the effectiveness of cyber security measures protecting digital infrastructure. This is a hands-on, investigative role: you will get under the hood of how networks and systems are built, work out what the controls are meant to stop, and then prove whether they do.
What you will do
- Track the evolving threat landscape and bring in threat intelligence and industry best practice to shape what gets tested and why.
- Prioritise assessment focus areas based on current and emerging risks and known vulnerabilities.
- Design technical tests that validate specific security controls, grounded in a real understanding of the underlying network and system architecture.
- Run the technical validation testing.
- Turn findings into clear, actionable recommendations, translating technical detail into strategic and business impact for senior stakeholders.
What you will bring
- A bachelor's degree in information security, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- OSCP, CREST, or GIAC certification (or equivalent) in offensive security.
- At least three years of experience in information security.
- Strong analytical skills and genuine attention to detail.
- A curious, exploratory approach to testing methods and novel attack paths.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfortable presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Comfortable working independently and across teams in a fast-moving environment.
