We are seeking a motivated science‑focused sales professional to manage and grow the business of analytical laboratory instrumentation within the Singapore market. This role combines technical understanding, customer engagement, and commercial execution, with particular advantage in materials characterisation-related technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Sales, Business Development & Market Growth
Drive the marketing and sales of a range of analytical laboratory instrumentation, with experience in materials characterisation technologies considered an advantage.
Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with existing customers across research, industrial, and institutional environments
Proactively identify and pursue new prospects to expand market presence and increase market share
Execute sales and marketing activities in Singapore in line with business strategies set by Management
Identify new application areas and emerging market opportunities to support business growth
Technical Understanding & Customer Engagement
Develop strong working knowledge of assigned products, their applications, and end‑user requirements
Engage customers to understand experimental needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions
Maintain regular engagement with prospects and customers to support long‑term partnerships
Resolve complex or sensitive customer issues with professionalism and sound technical judgement
Support the company, where required, in commercial matters such as payment collection related to completed sales
Application & Technical Support Coordination
Ensure customers receive appropriate levels of application and technical support, including support delivered by any team members reporting to you
Work closely and professionally with international principals and partners to coordinate technical expertise, application guidance, and customer support
Communicate clearly with principals to align technical capabilities with customer requirements
Marketing & Scientific Promotion
Organise and support technical marketing activities, including product demonstrations, seminars, workshops, and scientific events
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to effectively position products within their scientific and application context
Teamwork, Knowledge Sharing & Leadership
Operate as a collaborative member of the sales team by:
Supporting colleagues when required without compromising personal performance
Keeping the team informed of scheduling, travel, and customer engagement plans
Sharing market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights
Coaching, guiding, and motivating junior team members when opportunities arise
Reporting, Planning & Management Engagement
Work closely with Management to:
Develop and execute sales and market strategies
Prepare sales, activity, and pipeline reports as requested
Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records within the CRM system
Proactively communicate significant customer, technical, or market developments
Specifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related scientific discipline
At least 2 - 3 years of relevant experience in technical or scientific sales within the materials, chemical, or analytical instrumentation field
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers in research, industrial, and technical environments
A self‑motivated, results‑oriented individual with good follow‑up and relationship‑management skills
Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively as part of a sales and technical team
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) familiarity with CRM systems is an added advantage
Confident and outgoing personality with the ability to represent the company credibly and professionally
