Technical Project Manager (Software)

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong backend and infrastructure experience to lead complex, system-level initiatives across our software platform. This role owns end-to-end delivery of backend services, data pipelines, and infrastructure programs, ensuring work is predictable, scalable, and production-ready. The Technical Project Manager will operate at the core of our technical stack, partnering with Tech Engineering, DevOps, SRE, and Product teams to turn architectural vision into reliable execution.

This position is ideal for someone who understands how software is built, is able to design reliable delivery systems, and is able to lead teams through ambiguity toward achieving clear results.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning & Delivery

• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.

• Build and manage detailed project delivery plans, timelines, and resource allocation.

• Apply Agile or hybrid delivery models effectively.

• Proactively identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and blockers.

Technical & Stakeholder Alignment

• Partner with Backend, Platform, DevOps, and SRE teams to align on architecture and execution.

• Act as the bridge between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. Translate architectural intent into executable plans with the Tech Engineering team.

• Provide clear status, risks, and progress reporting to leadership.

• Ensure feasibility, sequencing, and dependency management across systems.

Team Leadership

• Coach and develop team members to maximize impact and growth.

• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Support performance tracking and development planning.

• Ensure teams remain aligned with project goals and company direction.

Risk & Issue Management

• Identify architectural, operational, and delivery risks early.

• Maintain risk registers, dependency maps, and mitigation plans.

• Drive early escalation on performance, reliability, and security risks.

• Ensure projects meet standards for availability, latency, security, and compliance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years of experience in technical project management in software development environments.

• 3+ years of experience in backend engineering.

• Good understanding of distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and service-oriented architectures.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiar with observability, reliability engineering, and production operations.

• Experience driving cross-team technical programs involving multiple services and infrastructure layers.

• Ability to translate complex system design into clear execution plans and business impact.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Willingness to travel occasionally and collaborate with offshore teams.
