From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Job description

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Our mission is to deliver the resilient long-haul and metro fiber assets and data center network space that power Google's global growth and AI leadership. We operate at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and global scale, ensuring Google's network infrastructure is the most reliable and efficient on the planet.

You will lead complex, cross-functional APAC Moves, Adds, Retrofits, Changes, Utilities, Security (MARCUS) programs beyond your immediate organization. Focus on designing critical physical infrastructure additions within buildings carrying live traffic alongside existing infrastructure. Savvily leverage AI/ML technologies to identify innovation opportunities, proactively mitigate strategic delivery risks, and drive continuous improvements across all your programs.

  • Travel approximately 40% of the time, primarily to Google's data centers and remote infrastructure sites across the APAC region.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management, specifically designing, constructing, or managing physical infrastructure projects.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in creating fiber routing diagrams and capacity augment plans in brownfield/live-traffic environments.
  • Experience with scripting and automation to improve program efficiency and ensure data integrity.
  • Experience creating infrastructure designs (telecom, electrical, mechanical) and drawing sets for builds and remodels of production data center networking spaces.
  • Advanced domain knowledge in fiber optic network design and deployment (OSP) and data center infrastructure (ISP).
  • Proven track record in driving organizational change and navigating ambiguity among high-level executive stakeholders in the APAC market.
