Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive execution across our hardware development lifecycle in collaboration with our ODM partner. The TPM will act as the primary bridge between Sidekick's internal hardware, firmware, and product teams, and the ODM's engineering and manufacturing teams.
This role demands strong technical understanding of consumer electronics development (particularly wearables or IoT), excellent communication skills across cross-functional teams, and the ability to manage complex program dependencies across hardware, firmware, and software integration.
Key Responsibilities
Program Management & Execution
Lead end-to-end program management of hardware builds from prototype to mass production with our ODM.
Drive schedule alignment across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and manufacturing milestones.
Track program progress, highlight risks, and develop mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage change requests and ensure proper documentation of design iterations, test reports, and quality gates.
ODM Collaboration & Vendor Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for all communications with the ODM.
Coordinate build reviews, DFM/DFT sessions, EVT/DVT/PVT milestones, and production readiness.
Ensure timely delivery of design files, BOM updates, test reports, and production data between teams.
Align cost, quality, and delivery (CQD) objectives across both organizations.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with internal stakeholders (Industrial Design, Firmware, Product, and Operations) to define and deliver hardware requirements.
Facilitate cross-team alignment on system-level integration (hardware firmware software).
Collaborate with manufacturing and QA to establish validation and reliability test plans.
Support supply chain and logistics teams on procurement forecasts, vendor qualification, and yield tracking.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in hardware program management, ideally in consumer electronics, IoT devices, or wearables.
Proven track record managing ODM/JDM relationships in Asia
Strong understanding of product development lifecycles - EVT, DVT, PVT, and MP.
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and firmware integration workflows.
Excellent project management skills (Gantt, risk logs, JIRA, or equivalent tools).
Strong communication skills in English (Mandarin proficiency a plus).
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Design, or related technical field
