Company Overview
Ambiq's mission is to develop the lowest-power semiconductor solutions to enable intelligent devices everywhere by developing the lowest-power semiconductor solutions to drive a more energy-efficient, sustainable, and data-driven world. Ambiq has helped leading manufacturers worldwide develop products that last weeks on a single charge (rather than days) while delivering a maximum feature set in compact industrial designs. Ambiq's goal is to take Artificial Intelligence (AI) where it has never gone before in mobile and portable devices, using Ambiq's advanced ultra-low power system on chip (SoC) solutions. Ambiq has shipped more than 230 million units as of October 2023. For more information, visit
Ambiq is seeking a highly organized, technically strong Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive execution of complex silicon programs from concept through production. This role partners closely with ASIC design, physical design, validation, operations, product engineering, and quality teams to ensure predictable delivery of ultra-low-power SoCs.
The TPM will own cross-functional silicon program planning, risk management, milestone tracking, and executive reporting to ensure on-time, on-quality, and on-cost product delivery.
Program Leadership
Lead full lifecycle semiconductor programs (architecture RTL verification physical design tapeout silicon bring-up validation production release).
Build and maintain integrated program schedules across ASIC design, verification, physical design, validation, and operations.
Drive cross-functional alignment across engineering, product management, operations, and quality.
Ensure clear definition of scope, deliverables, dependencies, and success criteria.
Execution & Risk Management
Identify, track, and mitigate technical and operational risks across silicon development phases.
Establish and drive milestone reviews (spec freeze, RTL freeze, netlist freeze, tapeout readiness, silicon readiness, production release).
Monitor critical path activities and proactively resolve schedule risks.
Drive issue resolution through structured problem-solving and escalation management.
Silicon Development & Manufacturing
Coordinate silicon development cycles including tapeout readiness, mask release, foundry engagement, and wafer starts.
Support silicon bring-up, characterization, and validation planning.
Partner with operations and product engineering for yield tracking, qualification, and manufacturing ramp readiness.
Ensure alignment between engineering milestones and supply chain commitments.
Cross-Functional Communication
Provide concise executive status reporting (KPIs, risk dashboards, schedule health).
Facilitate cross-functional reviews and decision forums.
Ensure alignment between engineering execution and product launch timelines.
Process & Continuous Improvement
Improve program management processes and tooling (JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.).
Define and track key metrics for silicon program predictability and execution health.
Contribute to scalable program management frameworks as Ambiq grows.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field.
7+ years of experience in semiconductor or ASIC-focused program management.
Demonstrated experience managing full ASIC/SoC development lifecycles through production.
Strong understanding of:
Silicon development flow (architecture, RTL, verification, synthesis, P&R, STA, tapeout)
Foundry engagement and manufacturing ramp
Silicon validation and product qualification
Experience working with cross-functional hardware engineering teams.
Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.
Strong risk management and problem-solving capabilities.
PMP certification or equivalent program management training.
Experience in ultra-low-power SoC development, IoT, wearable, industrial, or medical silicon.
Familiarity with advanced nodes and multi-site silicon development teams.
Experience supporting customer sampling and product launch activities.
Prior background in ASIC design, physical design, or silicon validation is a plus.
