Job Description

About the Role

Support the purchase and delivery of technical spares, machinery parts, lubricants, consumables, equipment, and services for marine operations.

You will work with vessel teams, technical superintendents, equipment suppliers, shipyards, repair companies, and logistics providers.

Candidates from shipping, vessel operations, marine equipment, shipyards, technical support, marine services, or procurement are welcome to apply. Direct tanker-purchasing experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  1. Review vessel requests for spares, equipment, lubricants, consumables, and services.

  2. Confirm technical details, quantities, priorities, budgets, and delivery dates.

  3. Find suitable OEMs, distributors, repair companies, and service providers.

  4. Request and compare technical and commercial quotations.

  5. Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, warranties, and delivery conditions.

  6. Prepare purchase orders after receiving the required approvals.

  7. Track outstanding orders and follow up on urgent items.

  8. Coordinate with vessels, superintendents, suppliers, logistics providers, and finance teams.

  9. Resolve technical questions, incorrect supplies, quality concerns, delays, claims, and invoice issues.

  10. Maintain purchasing records, review supplier performance, and support cost, safety, and compliance goals.

Requirements

  1. Diploma or degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.

  2. Around two years of experience in shipping, marine operations, vessel support, procurement, shipyards, equipment supply, or a related environment.

  3. Familiarity with vessel machinery, marine equipment, spares, lubricants, tanker systems, or technical products would be helpful.

  4. Some experience with quotations, suppliers, logistics, purchasing, technical coordination, or urgent vessel support is preferred.

  5. Knowledge of AMOS, ShipServ, SAP, technical documentation, or marine ERP systems is advantageous but not essential.
