As a Technical Manager in Shipbuilding, your role involves overseeing the technical aspects of ship design, construction, and delivery while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Here's a general job description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Oversight:
. Manage the technical aspects of shipbuilding projects from design to delivery.
. Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

2. Design & Engineering Coordination:
. Work with naval architects, engineers, and classification societies to finalize vessel designs.
. Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and modifications.
3. Quality & Compliance:
. Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and classification society rules.
. Conduct inspections and audits to maintain quality control.
4. Procurement & Material Selection:
. Approve technical specifications for materials, equipment, and machinery.
. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement.
5. Team Management & Coordination:
. Lead technical teams, including engineers, inspectors, and shipyard personnel.
. Collaborate with production managers to resolve technical challenges.
6. Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
. Address technical issues that arise during construction and propose solutions.
. Ensure proper risk assessment and mitigation strategies are in place.
7. Budget & Cost Control:
. Support cost estimation and budgeting for technical aspects of shipbuilding.
. Optimize resources to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Skills & Qualifications:
. Experience in ship design, construction, or shipyard operations managing
. Strong knowledge of classification society and regulatory requirements.
. Leadership and problem-solving skills to manage technical teams.
