- Manage the entire In-situ Machining Department Day to day operations in liaison with General Manager and other Dept. Managers.
- Achieving budgeted sales & profit targets
- Responsible for staff welfare, guidance, discipline, and performance including but not limited to company rules, applicable laws and relevant regulations.
- Health and safety of department employees, subcontractors, and other employees, all as deployed on department jobs or where department employees are allocated to other departments.
- Continuous improvement regarding own department.
- Manage repair teams in their daily duties onboard & ashore including planning of work-scope, personnel allocation assess tool requirement, scheduling and execution of repair and service works. Monitor progress and ensure works carried out on time and budget to appropriate quality levels.
- From time to time, personally perform ship and offshore vessel inspection, trouble shooting and repairs/upgrades and conversions and provide sound technical advice to customer.
- Identify market requirements and potential, and establish links to facilitate new business.
Required qualifications and skills:
- At least 5 years working experience in Marine/Offshore/Shipyard environment
- At least 3 years working experience in in-situ crankshaft grinding/machining, line-boring/milling and general machining knowledge
- Demonstrate ability to handle work professionally, independently and efficiently
