We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Manager to lead project technical coordination, design management, and compliance activities. This role will oversee technical standards, resolve design and constructability issues, and support project teams to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.
Work location: near to Dover area
Key Responsibilities
Technical Management
- Manage and maintain project technical standards, specifications, and procedures
- Review and approve technical documents, drawings, and method statements
- Provide technical guidance and solutions to project and site teams
Design Coordination
- Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Identify and resolve design clashes, constructability issues, and technical risks
- Lead value engineering initiatives and propose alternative technical solutions
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local construction codes, authority requirements, and industry standards
- Support audits, inspections, and authority submissions
- Implement and monitor QA/QC processes
Project Support
- Support tender and pre-construction teams with technical input
- Assist with variations, claims, and technical dispute resolution
- Monitor technical progress and report potential risks or delays
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- 7-12 years of experience in construction or engineering projects
- Proven experience in design management and site technical coordination
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, technical standards, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
