Technical Lead / Development Manager (Workflow & Microservices)

Location: Singapore

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead / Development Manager to direct end-to-end technical delivery, solution architecture, and design governance for a complex customer onboarding ecosystem within wealth management.

In this role, you will bridge business strategy and engineering execution—providing technical oversight to vendor development teams, enforcing code quality, and driving the architecture of resilient, event-driven microservices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Act as the primary technical authority across the application delivery lifecycle. Establish design patterns, conduct rigorous code reviews, and maintain compliance with enterprise security and architectural standards.
  • Vendor & Delivery Oversight: Guide external vendor teams on technical standards, challenge proposed solution designs, and ensure quality control across all deliverables.
  • Architecture & Integration: Direct the design and integration of Java-based enterprise applications, business process workflows, and distributed microservices.
  • Operations & Release Governance: Oversee environment readiness, deployment planning, system cutovers, and production incident root-cause analysis.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with enterprise architects, product owners, infrastructure teams, and quality assurance to align business goals with technical execution.

Key Requirements

  • Experience: 10+ years delivering enterprise IT capabilities, with at least 5 years in a Technical Lead, Solution Architect, or Lead Engineer capacity. Financial services experience is required.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Core Tech Stack:
  • Advanced Java enterprise development, Spring Boot, microservices, and Spring Batch.
  • Hands-on workflow automation expertise using jBPM, Kogito, or Drools alongside BPMN 2.0 modelling.
  • Architecture & Infrastructure: Deep knowledge of API design, integration patterns, Linux, and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift).
  • Engineering Standards: Proven track record in CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated quality gates.
  • Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication, analytical, and vendor governance skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior exposure to customer onboarding systems, KYC/AML workflows, or client lifecycle management platforms.
  • Hands-on experience governing event-driven, cloud-native architectures.
  • Familiarity with legacy application servers (Red Hat JBoss EAP, IBM WebSphere) and enterprise databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server).
