Lead and develop the Engineering team, including Engineering managers and technicians to deliver high standards of performance and achieve organisational outcomes
Provide strategic, budgetary and implementation oversight of all maintenance, repair and overhaul programs and procedures, ensuring asset reliability, workplace safety, cost effectiveness and compliance with internal audit, policy and regulatory requirements
Lead Engineering managers in analysing breakdown trends, asset performance and technical risks, ensuring timely interventions and long-term solutions
Oversee vessel newbuild, refurbishment and major upgrade projects, including design reviews, project management, commissioning and sea trials
Drive engineering innovation and technology adoption, enabling modernization, fleet efficiency, digitalisation and readiness for future operational demands
Work closely with Operations, Safety, Finance, Procurement and other departments to enhance end-to-end fleet processes and strengthen cross-functional effectiveness
Ensure strong vendor management, cost optimisation and supply chain resilience and sustain high service levels and asset uptime
Spearhead engineering's active participation and contributions to sustainability and decarbonisation, including initiatives involving alternative fuels, energy-efficiency solutions and emissions reduction
Parter with Business Development teams to shape and influence engineering components of turnkey solutions, overseas expansion and new market opportunities
Work closely with Human Resources and Union partners to champion workforce engagement, capacity development, change management and productivity improvement initiatives
Lead, plan and implement programs and initiatives for competency training, performance management and professional development of Engineering managers and technicians
Cultivate a high-performing Engineering culture grounded in professionalism, governance, safety, collaboration and continuous improvement
Engage with government agencies, regulatory bodies, classification societies, technology providers, institutes of higher learning and relevant stakeholders to achieve organisational outcomes
Requirements
Hold a bachelor's degree in Marine, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
Have at least 10 years of experience in managing a fleet of vessels
Possess at least 10 years of experience working in or with shipyards/ship repair facilities
