Job Description

Job Position Summary

Technical

  • Give support on matters related to technicalmatters as required.
  • Keep technical statistics.
  • Attend to additional duties as decided during theannual employee dialogue.
  • Give support to his assigned vessels in preparingfor Internal/ External Audits and PSC inspections.
  • Arrange Management Reviews and ensure actionsdecided upon are implemented.
  • Monitor and follow up with technical managers forships Technical related matters.
  • Prepare and plan for ships take over/Handover andrelated arrangements.
  • Ensure to document and follow up with weekly,monthly, quarterly reports from technical managers managing the ships assigned.
  • Assist with ships repair and services as requiredand follow with technical managers.
  • Monitor ships and machinery performances in termsof efficiency and PMS .
  • Ensure vessels documentations and certificate aremaintained for trade.
  • Managing regular reports from vessels assigned tohim/her and file them in structured approach.
  • Review and follow up on routine reports from thevessel & Managers.
  • Carry out regular data analysis of costs, PMS andother KPI factors to ascertain health of the ship as far ship management isconcerned.
  • Undertake any other Technical related assignmentsas and when required assigned by Line technical manager.
  • Assist in ship and office related purchases asrequired or act as back up.
  • Assist the Technical team as based on theirrequirements and support as required.
  • Adhoc admin support.
  • Assist Accounting team as necessary.

Purchasing

  • Liaise with Manager/ Superintendentsfor prompt supply of Ships Requirement or vsl repair jobs as required.
  • Handle purchasing activities as well as follow up on delivery to the vessels.
  • Tally Accounting system and Issue PO to vendor.
  • Send enquiry/ requisitions to suppliers for owners asset purchases and asrequired.
  • Liaise with vessels/Managers on anyinformation required pertaining to requisitions.
  • Follow up with quotation from suppliers.
  • Prepare purchase order and delivery order/ proforma invoices/ packing list,etc.
  • Liaise with agents and managers for supply of spare parts and repair servicesto vessels at convenient ports.
  • Document filing / printing/Processing of Invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/ Superintendents/Line manager.

Accountabilities

  • Maintains amicable relationship with Technical Linemanager and colleagues.
  • Purchasing and follow up related etc.
  • Monitor Technical managers performance and followup with them on daily basis on their communications.
  • Good internal working relationships.
  • Team related tasks and execution.
  • Reports to Tech Director.

Qualifications

  • Technical/Maritimequalifications Basic or with experience.
  • 6 Months or Plus Experience in Tech assistanceand Purchasing knowledge.
  • Good command of oral and written English.
  • Standard computer knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to develop closerelationships with vessel technical managers, operation managers as well asinternal and external support functions.
