Key Responsibilities
Inspection, Testing & Technical Services
- Conduct inspections of lifting gear, lifting equipment, and associated accessories.
- Perform wire rope inspections and condition assessments.
- Prepare, install, and test equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites.
- Carry out Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), including Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Wire Rope Electromagnetic (EMAG) inspections.
- Perform surface preparation of equipment prior to inspection and testing.
- Operate load measuring devices and related machinery safely and effectively.
- Support maintenance activities for rental and consignment inventory.
- Prepare inspection reports, load test reports, certificates, and other technical documentation.
- Assist in developing technical service work scopes and operational requirements.
- Maintain and calibrate technical service equipment and tools.
- Liaise with customers, surveyors, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
- Ensure full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH), Quality Management System (QMS), and relevant industry standards.
- Perform additional operational and technical tasks assigned by the Technical Service Manager or Operations Manager.
HSSEQ, Technology & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain workplace housekeeping standards in accordance with the company's 5S requirements.
- Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and proactively identify potential safety risks and process improvements.
- Participate in risk assessments and promote a safe working environment.
- Report workplace incidents, hazards, and near misses in a timely manner.
- Adopt and utilize digital technologies, electronic tools, and reporting systems.
- Support technology implementation and operational improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to enhance productivity, quality, and workplace safety.
- Participate in reviews of work processes and procedures to improve operational effectiveness.
Team& People Development
- Participate in competency assessments and training programs to enhance professional development.
- Support departmental succession planning and team development initiatives.
- Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members when required.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties assigned by management from time to time.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant certifications in lifting gear, lifting equipment, wire rope inspection, or related inspection activities will be an advantage.
Preferred Certifications
- Lifting Supervisor Certification.
- Rigger and Signalman Certification.
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- NDT certification (MPI) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in lifting equipment inspection, lifting operations, rigging, or a related field.
- Experience working in industrial, offshore, marine, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environments is preferred.
