Job Description
RED is an expanding international M&E consultancy, with a proven track record in low energy design, focused on providing excellent design solutions to clients.
We now seek an experienced Technical Director (Electrical) to be based in our Singapore office to inspire others. You will have the ability to run small and large sized projects, undertake a client facing role in the development, design, and co-ordination of engineering projects You will have experience in the delivery of data centres along with other sector experience including commercial, hotel, retail, and hotel design desirable.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both with colleagues and clients, and experience working on innovative projects with leading client organisations, and contractors will equip you to take a future pro-active role in forging client relationships of our sector portfolio.
You will possess good commercial awareness, in addition to having robust technical knowledge relevant to building services design, and capable of incorporating those technologies into the hotel / hospitality and leisure sector. The position will ideally suit someone who is currently working in building service consultancy and is prepared to work hands on.
You are to drive the sector growth to increase its current market share, leveraging project opportunities from new and existing client bases. You will contribute to the delivery of strategic objectives for the sector, whilst driving value and innovation to showcase market leading design, innovation and technical expertise. You will be an active contributor to wider Group thought leadership and strategy events and be a convincing and inspirational leader, together with providing effective mentoring, decision making and escalation point the existing management team.

Job Description
Takes Team Management and leadership role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services. Assists the Directors with Business strategy and management.Carries out cost and profit diagnosis on projects including feasibility studies and preparation of project fee proposalsWorking closely with clients and project team to establish project requirementsReviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required. Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.Develops and specifies applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services purposesSurveys tests and reports on existing electrical/mechanical installationsFiscal and commercial management of projects to ensure they return the target marginLeadership and hands on delivery of monitoring of construction and installation on projectsLiaising with existing clients to establish long term relationships and future upcoming projectsLiaising with future client prospects and general business development.Specifies activities to ensure that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing confirm to functional specifications and customer requirementsRepresents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors teamsCarries out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet required robust industry and legal standards Hands on involvement in local office management in conjunction with other members of the senior management teamSupport clients in tender and procurement of MEP contractors and MEP equipment.Leads on the coordination of engineering services, together with hands on delivery of concept and details designsEnsures risk and performance monitoring analysis takes place through effective systems of internal control and delegationMentoring and development of younger members of the engineering teamHands on involvement in the sector management team in conjunction with other members of the teamSurveys and due diligence reports of existing data centresPresenting technical papers at industry events where the opportunity arisesTakes a holistic view in the selection and application of engineering concepts and solutionsSupport the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspective.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline/BEng General Building Services or have sufficient equivalent experience MCIBSE/MIEE or HND/HNC + appropriate experience or equivalentProfessional Engineer (PE) certificationSignificant experience of specification design for a range of building types Experience of having managed projects abroad (desirable)Sound knowledge & working application of key health and safety issues and legislation Appreciation & working knowledge of contract and business lawKnowledge of MS office applications word, excel etc Flexible and self-motivational approach to workAbility to use it based calculation and spreadsheet softwareGood understanding of bs standards/ UK regulations/codes Experience and understanding of invoicing and credit controlAbility to prioritise own workload Ability to work to deadlinesPresentation skills Leadership & mentoring skills Chairing/facilitation of meeting skills
