Position Summary
As a Technical Designer specialising in experiential and exhibition environments, you will serve as a critical bridge between conceptual design and physical realisation. Working closely with Project Managers and Senior Designers, you will support the end-to-end delivery of design intent through precise documentation, coordination, and detailing across all phases-from Schematic Design (SD) through Construction Documentation (CD), and Construction Administration (CA). Your work will ensure that all experiential and exhibition design elements from modular structures and interactive stations to integration of AV hardware and lighting - are technically sound, buildable, and aligned with the project's creative vision, content needs, and fabrication requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Schematic Design (SD) Phase
- Translate early design concepts into technically feasible layouts and schematic drawings.
- Contribute to early value-engineering assessments and identify potential technical risks or grey areas between design and architecture/media scope.
2. Design Development (DD) Phase
- Produce scalable, dimensioned drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and exploded diagrams.
- ensure all technical requirements and drawings from consultants (lighting, HVAC, AV, security, structural) are captured, integrated and coordinated.
- Support design feasibility checks to ensure buildability within budget constraints.
3. Construction Documentation (CD) Phase
- Develop comprehensive bid-level drawing packages including detailed plans, elevations, details, and finish specifications.
- Coordinate closely with AV, lighting, structural and fabrication consultants to ensure alignment across all disciplines.
- Assist in internal quality control and drawing reviews before client submission.
4. Construction Administration (CA) Phase
- Review shop drawings, material samples, and prototypes flag inconsistencies against design intent.
- Conduct site visits to assess installation by the builder/fabricator
